By this point your Wolf Beil may also be close to broken and then Hector will be left in a Drought until Chapter 24 at the very least in Eliwood mode or Chapter 30 in Hector Hard Mode. Once your other units start to promote, Hector will not only face stat issues but movement issues. This means that Hector won't be slow at catching exp. If not, he at least leaves room for another unit to pick up the kill. But he also comes with a personal weapon, "Wolf Beil" that gives him the possibility of OHKOing many Cavliers and Cavaliers. Hector's HP, Strength, and Defense are his biggest boons making him a suitable defensive wall for attracting not to mention he has weapon triangle against the most prominent types of enemies in the game. Hector as a unit is a unique case, he's a very solid unit statistically but there are just some other problems that hold him back. It's why he is one of my favorite lords in the series. Taking a step away from the analysis one of my personal goals to set forward is to mature and be able take things into my own hands responsibly so Hector resonates with me. Hector's arc is wrapped up nicely in the conversations between him and Eliwood when Eliwood is able to relate to him and help him stop running away from what he doesn't want to see and when that happens he may talk to Oswin and tell him that he will "stop running away." These actions from the time he leaves the castle, to learning of his brother's death, and the conclusion on the final map are things we see will affect Hector and help him mature as a human being. He then goes on to hate Oswin for not telling him about Uther's illness. As well Hector also has to face the harsh realities when Eliwood's father, Elbert, dies and later on his own brother, who he gets angry and frustrated on for not confronting him or telling Hector about it. He also views himself as more powerful than his other allies as shown in the conversation with Lyn which comes from him wishing to protect him.
This is shown in his passion to spar and become stronger so he can protect those close to him. He fights and makes decisions recklessly but despite these traits is very loyal to his friends and family, especially with Eliwood and Uther. Hector is a brash young man who often does not act like the nobleman he should be.
